Today I give thanks for my biological mother.  She had the guts to ask her sister to raise her child.  She knew it was in my best interest to put me in a place where I could have what she wasn’t able to give.  She trusted her sister to provide for her youngest child.

I always knew I had 2 Mommys who were sisters.  I never questioned any reasoning behind the decision or wondered why my ‘real’ mother gave me up.  I knew she loved me and I knew she would always be a part of my life.  Our relationship hit a few bumpy patches as I got older.  That rebellious spirit didn’t hit me with her until well into my 20’s.  

My biological mother shows me how to be a loving person in spite of roadblocks other people put up.  From her I have learned how sacrifice is not about what YOU are giving up, but what everyone gains.
